Day 36-38: Paris, France

Café & coissants

We stayed in the Turkish district, near the Marais district, which I decided if I were to live in Paris, that’s were I’d be—cool shops, lots of cafés and restaurants, and tall narrow streets of cool old buildings. We hung out there for breakfast and drinks a few times.

In terms of sight-seeing we checked most things off the list, the Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomph, Champs Elysées, Montmatre, and the Louvre. Favorites in the Louvre include the Winged Victory of Samothrace, Code of Hammurabi, Venus de Milo and the egyption sarcophaguses.

My favorite part of Paris was the cafe culture—when you order coffee you get an espresso shot—just the way it should be (no gallon of watered down coffee—silly americans :-)! And of course the coissants were yummy too. The most dissapointing was the meal value for money—granted we only had three nights to eat out, but all were pretty expensive for the food we got.

Paris is just a bit photogenic. Prepare for the firefose of images. Dial-up? That’s a shame…
