Day 6: Glacier National Park

Putting our gear to use

We drove another 350 miles from Banff to Glacier National Park. Yet another beautiful drive. We listened to our first audiobook and though the sounds of David Sedaris was a bit out of tune with the countryside, it was a great drive.

Our only event was the border crossing. We had to ditch our hamburger meat (for BSE concerns) and eggs. Oops. I never even thought it would be an issue. The guys at the border crossing were nice enough about it. A few minutes later we were on our way.

We arrived at Glacier National Park around 5:30pm, just after all facilities closed. Nevertheless we were able to find and set up our campsite with no real drama. Successes included: setting up our tent, building a fire, seeing numerous deer in the campground, using our stove to cook salmon and snow peas, not getting attacked by a bear, and sleeping without freezing.
